Plans have been revealed for extensive refurbishments of the waterside terrace at Dakota Hotel, due for completion Spring 2020.

The £1m investment will create a 170m2 sweeping terrace, specifically designed to complement the hotel’s restaurant, bar, Champagne Room and Cigar Garden. The terrace will feature retractable canopies to the roof and sides for sunnier days and covers and warming state-of-the-art external heaters for those usual rainy Manchester Days.

The terrace will create a beautiful retreat for al fresco drinking and dining just on the outskirts of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Minimal structure will frame the terrace with Venetian fencing and stone covered flooring creating a modern, contemporary feel.

The redesign concept has been created by KPP Architects and features cool, understated seating for up to 80 guests and dining areas and muted tones of luxe décor, in true Dakota style.

Dakota Manchester’s General Manager, Matt Townley said “We are continuing to enhance and invest in Dakota Manchester, to ensure we are offering guests an unparalleled experience in the city. The terrace will bring a new element to the hotel, allowing for private events, drinks receptions and al fresco dining – when the sun is shining! Dakota Manchester focuses on providing an outstanding experience and service for guests, and the terrace gives us another space to showcase what Dakota is all about.”
