Forget Steve and Tracy from Corrie and move the hell over Tommy and Molly from this year’s Love Island. This story might just be one of the best love stories to come out of Manchester.

Back way back when, in 2016, Jen and Seb started Manchester Gin. After meeting in a bar a few years before that, the first words uttered by Jen to Seb was ‘Gin and Tonic’ after he asked what she was drinking. A mutual – and slightly obsessive – love for gin began.

Like many love stories, both of them struggle to remember the rest of that night. But it was enough to fall in love and start one of the top things to come out of Manchester, Manchester Gin.

Beginning in their dining room distilling around 100 bottles a month with plenty of stories of disasters, waking up drunk from the fumes and their cat ruining labels scattered around the room. Since their humble beginnings, the brand has won multiple prestigious awards, all around the globe. They now produce upwards of 80,000 bottles a year.

Their core range is made of 5 unique flavours Signature, Raspberry Infused, Wild Spirit, Overboard, and Haçienda.

But that wasn’t enough for these two love birds. Next on their agenda, is opening a bar and that they have done. Three Little Words, a place to Drink, Dine and Distil is officially this month.

Naming it their very own industrial revolution, the grade II arches, once home to horse and carridge ports carrying cotton is now home to a new bar, restaurant and distillery.

There is an impressive new 1000l distil, named after Jen’s mum, Wonder Wend that is expected to up production and create over a million bottles of gin a year. Much more than what they were making in their little dining room.

The copper still stands next to 2 other distils, named after inspirational Mancunian women, Emmeline and Victoria named after, Emmeline Pankhurst and Victoria Wood.

The distillery is also home to a new type of experience. Guests can partake in a distillery tour and guided tasting for £20pp and experience the passion behind the gin, with a complimentary G&T on arrival.

Or, go all out and enjoy a Gin-Making Experience. For £85, guests partake in a full tour, tasting, 2G&T’s, nibbles all while bubbling up you’re very own gin made using their wall of botanicals.

Next to the distillery is a beautiful and perfectly Instagram-friendly 40 cover luxurious cocktail bar and 70 cover contemporary restaurant.

The cocktail menu, Volume 1, depicts a love story. Kicking off the bar, exactly how Manchester Gin started. With topics such as Lust Rapture, Devotion, Eternity and Ultimatum covered the flavours evoke freshness, exciting and move through to dark and heavier colours.

The restaurant will boast seasonal selections of small and large plates all designed to interpret the Manchester gin by ex-chef from Evelyn’s.

The restaurant also has an amazing sustainability to it too. Complete with a flower wall designed to help the restaurant reach carbon neutrality within a year of being open.

The bar opening is the next chapter in the Manchester Gin love story which opens its arms to the whole of Manchester to join. The bar, restaurant and distillery is open from 15th September.
