Cottonopolis are seeing out August with a Bank Holiday Weekend packed full of events. Here’s what you can expect:

Tropadelica Summer Beer Festival Closing Party
Friday 25th August

The launch of the Summer Beer Menu was so successful that it didn’t seem fitting to bid the menu farewell without a good send off.

The Brewers are back to represent their beers at the North Vs South Beer Off. Gipsy Hill, Beavertown, Beatnik and North Brewing will be down armed full of merchandise, and free tastings of exclusive lines and the best of their brews. There will be giveaways on the night and the chance for one lucky person to win a huge beer hamper.

There will also be a plethora of tropical sounds from an impressive DJ line-up throughout the night.

Hip Hop Hooray!
Sunday 27th August

Straight after Bottomless Brunch finishes, the party continues as Cottonopolis have devised a Sunday all dayer dedicated to hip-hop featuring a breakdance showcase alongside some of the best DJ’s in the city featuring; Paul Waxon (Cape Town), In The Loop, Predator Prime and Konny Kon (Children of Zeus) amongst others.

Expect DJ’s to be showcasing global tracks that are crucial sounds to everything that falls under the hip-hop umbrella. Expect to hear forgotten Mobb gems, unreleased Jersey club tracks that never ade the B side and everything in between.

Bottomless Bank Holiday Monday with Eastern Bloc Records
Monday 28th August

Eastern Bloc’s Tom and Seb will be setting up camp at Cottonopolis on Monday 28th. Established in 1985 Eastern Bloc has been a cultural icon and integral part within the Manchester music scene, helping to launch bands such as the Inspiral Carpets, while also hosting in-store signings with The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays.

The shop was also responsible for breaking much of the new dance music at the time, being one of the only shops in the UK to import dance music from around the globe.

This Bank Holiday Monday you can browse through some of the shops hand picked crates of Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hiphop, Disco, Broken Beat, Afro, Latin, Reggae, House and much more while these master selectors rock the decks in an-all-day-all-vinyl session.
