Spinningfields is getting a taste of Wonderland with Neighbourhood Restaurant’s latest offering, Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea.

Taking their inspiration from the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland the eaterie is taking diners down the rabbit hole to experience a treat like no other.

It’s the first time the Manhattan esq establishment has put Afternoon Tea on the menu and there’s two tasty offerings to try out. Manchester’s Finest were invited to head to the ‘Hood for their VIP launch this week and warned ‘don’t be late for a very important date’!

The Neighbourhood crew certainly know how to throw a party as we have seen in the past with their popular Brunch Club and this launch party was no exception.

The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea (£23) is a fun feast of sandwiches including smoked ham and wholegrain mustard and cucumber and chive cream cheese alongside sweet treats Jelly Wonderland and the tantalising ‘Melting’ traditional Victoria Sponge. If you don’t want to miss out on the usual treats from their Manhattan style menu you can order the Neighbourhood Afternoon Tea (£23) full of their signature bites such as Mini Wagyu burger and Lobster Taco.

Both are delicious so it’s a good excuse to return another day for a second sitting!
If you still have room to fill your belly (a challenge after all those sandwiches and cake) there’s an array of oversized deserts to make your eyes pop out. The Cheese Cake Vesuvius (£8.95) get a big Finest thumbs up along with the Sugar Sundae Splendors (£6.95) which are reminiscent of American drugstore sundaes and a nod to Neighbourhood’s New York style.

The Neighbourhood crew certainly know how to throw a party as we have seen in the past with their popular Brunch Club and this launch party was no exception. They really went to town with their attention to detail with fake grass placemats adorning the tables alongside giant teapots, hanging playing cards and toadstools napkin holders all creating a bit of magic whilst you munch.

The theme works for both young and old with families encouraged to bring their children along to join in the fun. There’s even a specially created kids menu, a croquet area, fancy dress box and an apt ‘pin the tail on the Cheshire Cat’ to keep them entertained.

An afternoon of Eat Me! Drink Me! which leaves you feeling totally ‘Mad’ for it!
The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea and Neighbourhood Afternoon Tea are available Mon-Fri between 2.30pm to 5pm.
