Swing, Soul & Roll this Sunday with Whiskey Jar

Sunday might not be everyone's bag for going out, but this week it might be a good idea to invent an excuse for not being in work on Monday morning as Prohibition head to Whiskey Jar to raise money for local cancer support charity, The Christie.

Starting at 6pm this Sunday 26th November, Prohibition will be putting on a night of Swing, Soul and Rock n Roll by some of the UK’s finest vintage DJs, who will be donating their time for free to support the amazingly good cause.

It’s set to be an evening of pure vintage delights, with a soundtrack of Swing, Rock n Roll, Northern Soul, Funk, Disco and Electro Swing, as well as cakes and a raffle for Christie.

Line-up:

Fizzy Gillespie (Swing & Bass)
Head honcho at Swing & Bass Nottingham, Fizzy Gillespie will be bringing his melting pot of funk, disco and electro swing delights to Prohibition!

G.I Jive
We are very excited to welcome to Prohibition, Ian Hartley, from local Lindy Hop night, ‘G.I Jive’. At 70 years young, Ian has a vast musical knowledge of all things Swing, Big Band and Rhythm & Blues!

David Jackson
Former DJ at much loved Manchester bar ‘Tiger Lounge’ David will be bringing the sounds of Northern Soul to Prohibition!! This is going to be a real treat!

Emma Clair (Prohibition)
Prohibition’s leading lady Emma Clair will be playing a special set of all things vintage! She will be digging deep into her music collection to pull out some forgotten gems and modern day classics with everything from rock n roll to disco to northern soul and electro swing!

The Mexican Connection
Burnley’s finest Mexicans will be bringing you an upbeat selection of Swing House and Electro Swing! Expect to hear Wolfgang Lohr, Jamie Berry, Parov Stelar and loads more!!
