Dulcimer, the Chorlton bar promising ‘fine ales & finer folk’ are celebrating the long bank holiday weekend with a real and cider festival.

This will be real showcase event for any beer, cider or bank holiday enthusiast with over 30 lovingly chosen ales, ciders & perries from over 15 of the best micros in the UK including Brodie’s, First Chop Brewing Arm, Gwynt Y Ddraig, Hard- knott, Hawkshead, The Wild Beer Co, The Moss Cider Project, Thornbridge, Tiny Rebel and many, many more.

And, a festival isn’t a festival without music and over the 4 days there is quite a lineup of music:

Friday 3rd May | HOT RATS (DJs) | From 9pm | Free Entry
A kaleidoscopic smorgasbord of Psych, Tropicalia, Krautrock, Ska, Popcorn, Folk, Prog, Gospel, Blues & country, 50’s R n’B, Northern Soul and wondrous obscurities with your genial vinyl enthusiasts and local heroes – Goff Wowie Zowie, John Mackenzie and Mik Mak Mok alongside a bejewelled carousel of super guests.

Saturday 4th May | Live: TOM EDNEY | From 7pm | Free Entry
Tom Edney performing his heartfelt and hopeful indie-pop.

Saturday 4th May | Oz…with Gumbo Ya Ya (DJs) | From 9pm | Free Entry
Local legend Gumbo Ya-Ya and a very special guest will be sharing selections from their ample crates. The very best from Folk to Jazz, Funk to Soul, Library to Latin, Calypso to Disco and the Psychedelic to the Cinematic. Music for the discerning ear.

Sunday 5th May | Live: Stilts Foster + James F Hattersely | From 7pm | Free Entry
Headliner Stilts Foster was once a steelworker in Scunthorpe. Heavy metal joke etc. He’s actually got a voice that’d be perfectly up to the job of knocking over girders and other metal-ey things but
luckily, Stilts’ speciality is wringing panoramic, beautifully considered tunes from a guitar.

Sunday 5th May | Family Affair (DJs) | From 9pm | Free Entry
Soul enthusiasts Family Affair bring you a collection of the best Ghetto Beats, Rare Funk and Heavy Soul on original 7” vinyl. From the exceptionally rare to the downright classic, this night is guaranteed to get hips shaking and toes tapping.

Monday 6th | The Dulcimer Inn-Quizition | From 8.30 pm | Free Entry
Round up your brainiest mates and pit your wits against the brace of brilliant brains that is the Barry brothers. Rolling jackpot and cash and beer prizes to be won every week.
