Starting Friday 27th October, the street food event will be gaining a much needed roof over its head (what with winter coming up) and are looking to provide a space for supporting Manchester’s music scene.
Whilst GRUB has continued to experience a huge upsurge in popularity this year as thousands of food fans have flocked to enjoy the array of fantastic street food at their three times a week event they have been planning their new Winter home to ensure the events won’t stop due to the classic Manchester weather.
This has also provided an opportunity to create a space that can be used for more than just eating and drinking, the long abandoned railway arches on Temperance Street will be utilised primarily for music events, as well as regular cinema and comedy nights. No matter what event is going on it will be supported by the usual smashing line-up of locallly brewed beers.
GRUB is well known for supporting new street food traders from the grassroots food & drink scene of Manchester and this approach will not be forgotten when programming the new events space. A huge effort will be made to look after smaller promoters in an attempt to help out those musicians and artists just starting out.
Fairfield Social Club will open its doors on Friday 27th October with a special Grub Food Fair; a double celebration as it is also the third birthday of GRUB. To mark the occassion Runaway Brewery have brewed a one off special Lemon Drizzle IPA called ‘Happy Birthday To Me III’.
Grub Food Fair At Fairfield Social Club takes place every Friday and Saturday between 12pm and 10pm starting Friday 27th October.
Plant Powered Sundays take place every Sunday between 12pm and 8pm starting Sunday 30th October.
