QUIPPOPOTAMUS – Manchester’s most free-and-easy comedy club – is starting a new night at Odd Bar.

Odd Bar

Born in Withington in 2012, Quippopotamus has struck pubescence and is stretching its gangly bumfluffed limbs out to the Northern Quarter for its inaugural night on Tuesday 1st October (and every first Tuesday thereafter).

A unique evening of free stand up starring established acts from the more eccentric, more daring corners of the comedy circuit.

Living sculpture of raw strength and human beef-wagon, Bodybuilder JAYNE EDWARDS, opens the show (‘Her well-crafted comic persona is a mix of clueless buffoon and delusional ego-mania. Jayne’s closing set piece had audience members in fits and tears’ – The MET Studio).

A unique evening of free stand up starring established acts from the more eccentric, more daring corners of the comedy circuit.

Fresh from his critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe, our headliner will be the ingeniously unhinged Manchester favourite and Seventies throwback PHIL ELLIS will be headlining the show. (‘Mad and severely likeable…possessed with manic energy’ – Metro ‘fucking loved it’ – Sarah Millican).

Keeping proceedings together will be idiot ringmaster and charming purveyor of weird JACK EVANS (‘…audience interaction and spontaneity second to none’ – The Heckler Magazine) He delights with his light banter, heavy rhetoric and twisted parlour games. Special guests tbc.
