Notorious for not giving public displays of his prowess, Marco has agreed to do a rare cookery demonstration during the weekend festival, taking place July 7-8th this year. He hung up his apron in 1999 and his rare appearance at the festival is one not to be missed.

The renowned “Godfather of Modern Cooking” has developed a restaurant portfolio with 50 restaurants in the UK, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

His most recent venture is Mr White’s English Chophouse on Canal Street in Manchester which offers a combination of English classics alongside French flair across a menu which specialises in steaks and grills.

Manchester Eats is a brand-new event, which will see the beautiful Heaton Park transformed into a food lovers’ paradise. It will include talks and workshops from top celebrity chefs and mixologists, will celebrate Manchester’s growing restaurant and bar sector, and its reputation as the food capital of the north and will offer visitors the opportunity to participate in classes including vegan & vegetarian cookery classes, a chocolate masterclass and cooking for kids.

Marco trained under Albert and Michel Roux at London’s Le Gavroche and holds the honour of being the youngest chef to achieve 3 Michelin stars.

The event will provide an opportunity to Marco to be reunited with one of this many protégées, Matt Tebbutt.  Matt was trained by Marco at The Foxhunter and has gone on to carve out a TV career, appearing regularly as a presenter on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen.

There are already a host of exciting names on the exhibitor list, including Cottonopolis, Proove Pizza and Manchester Gin, with more being added each week in the run up to the weekend.

Official charity partners the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation will be providing an activity zone on both days with interactive, accessible sporting activities for both children and adults. The event also features a dedicated children’s village and live DJ sets.
