Mary-Ellen McTague returns to Prestwich to host residency at Cuckoo

Aumbry Head Chef Mary-Ellen McTague has announced her return to Prestwich to host a three-month residency at the popular neighbourhood bar, Cuckoo.

Following the overwhelming success of city centre pop-up restaurant, 4244 Edge Street, the Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life Chef of the Year and her team will be bringing their historical British cooking to Cuckoo’s relaxed, intimate location.

The offering will be high quality and affordable bistro-style food, with a particular focus on locally sourced produce. Dishes will reflect the simple style of cooking that put Aumbry on the country’s culinary map five years ago.

4244’s Front of House team will be on hand to provide online casino an uncompromised level of service to guests, emulating the standard of hospitality that made the city centre pop-up such a triumph.

Head Chef and patron, Mary-Ellen McTague, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be continuing my culinary presence in Prestwich by taking on the kitchens of Cuckoo. The team and I are really excited to get started and we hope to build on the success of 4244 in this new location, which is particularly close to my heart.”

Dave Rigby, owner of Cuckoo, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Mary-Ellen and her team back to Prestwich. Cuckoo and Mary-Ellen share a common philosophy and we hope this partnership will bring a fresh offering to our patrons, while also attracting some new faces to the venue.

Food will be available from 6 – 9:30pm Wednesday to Saturday as well as 12 – 2:30pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am to 8pm Sunday.
