Five Course Wine Dinner at Brasserie Abode: Old World vs. New World

Brasserie Abode are forging ahead with another one of their fantastic 5 course wine dinners, with October seeing them pit Old World versus New World.

Taking place on Wednesday 3rd October at 7pm, the evening will give you the opportunity to taste a range of 5 matched wines, expertly paired with a five-course tasting menu.

Guests will be presented each course (and wine) by an expert from Hallgarten Wines who will aim to explain the key difference between ‘Old World’ and ‘New World’ wines.

Old World typically refers to the traditional wine growing regions of Europe such as France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece while New World are elsewhere, including Chile, Argentina, Australia and South Africa.

Differences in the two regions are complex and far-reaching, with Old World typically being describes as tasting lighter, having less alcohol and not being as fruity as the New World counterparts. The evening will look to delve deeper into these differences, explain them and enjoy them alongside a five-course paired taster menu.
