Offering an extensive British menu, George’s dining room and bar offer mouth-watering food and a great selection of wine and cocktails.
In the heart of the village of Worsley, George’s recently changed chef hands and revamped the menu.
Complimentary from the chef, a parcel of Foie gras arrived washed down with an Prosecco aperitif. This set the standard of what was to come.
Pastry type breads arrived in all shapes and sizes, baked in house and still warm from the oven. The starters combine a mix of traditional “pub grub” such as scotch eggs with a “New World” slant like tempura dragon rolls.
Wether your dish of choice be pasta, fish, salad, meat or a good old burger the menu has something for you. The sides compliment perfectly but I randomly recommend the Patatas Bravas …slight twist on the tradition we know, but some of the best I have tasted!
Mains…The chefs recommendation, namely “Pork head to toe” hit the spot, piled up braised cheek, crisp belly, and all the crackling served with dauphinoise potatoes perfectly washed down with a large glass of red.
Eyed up the monk fish, that’s on my wish list for next time, either that or the Crab linguine. Massive choice gives you desire to return again and again.
If there is any room for desert this menu is a twist on tradition.
In summary, good food, good atmosphere and good value for money. Thanks giggsy! We will be back.
