On March 20th the Police go to battle with the Paramedics all in aid of charity. The 2 forces usually work together to look after our city but for one night only they will go head to head in a ‘Battle of the Badges’.

PVP-POSTER-V3-1

The 12 contenders taking part come from all around Manchester and many have never even put on a boxing glove before, let alone stepped into a ring. Since signing up for it at the end of last year they have been training hard to get match fit and face 8 bouts of white collar boxing all taking place at The Palace Hotel.

Manchester’s Finest caught up with a few of the contenders in training to see if they were ‘ready to rumble’!

The event has been put on in conjunction with Formal Fight Club, responsible for some of the premier white-collar boxing matches in the North West. All money raised will go to two very worthy charities close to the hearts of those involved, the Police have nominated the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund and the Paramedics are supporting Mediquip4Kids.

On the night there will be some celeb faces to watch out for along with Capital FM’s very own ‘Wingman’, Nige Clucas who will be Compere. There will also be boxing royalty in the form of ex triple Middleweight World Boxing Champion Robbie Reid who will Referee.

Along with the main event guests will also enjoy a champagne reception, sumptuous 3-course dinner and exclusive access to The Palace Hotel’s nightclub, Copperface Jack’s.
