Running from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th October, the Bee in the City Farewell Weekend will give people the chance to see all the giant Bee in the City sculptures together for one last time.

All 101 of the big Bees will swarm together for one final time at the UK National Cycling Centre, with ticket holders being able to get up close and personal with the bees before they are auctioned off to raise funds for the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s We Love MCR Charity.

People are encouraged to ‘collect’ any Bees to complete their trail hunt, take selfies with their best Bee pal, meet members of the colony they haven’t yet seen, and take a final look at all the different designs.

There will be lots of other family-friendly activities at the Farewell Weekend. Explore all things bees and pollination with Pif Paf theatre company’s show Bee Cart and join in with Egg People’s interactive performance Waggle Dance, a high impact, interactive, playful, walkabout act the whole family will be buzzing about.

There will be BMX demonstrations led by the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre team, and hula-hopping sessions from Bee in the City’s Health and Wellbeing Partner Well Pharmacy.

The Farewell Weekend also boasts live music from the Skiband, an irreverent and engaging street band from West Yorkshire with a massive repertoire of songs, as well as wax candle making with Manchester and District Beekeepers’ Association.

There will also be a variety of the finest street food and an art fair featuring a number of the artists from the trail including Kim Hubball, Adam Pekr, Meha Hindocha, Jayne Ford and Helen Russell.
