In the first of a series of evenings designed to take you on a journey through Mancunian culture, Eyes on the Pies are presenting a run through from the perspective of Urban music in our city – circa 1998 – 2020.
The night will explore the rise of Cleopatra, one of the UK’s first black 90’s girl groups right through to the artists that are making a huge dent in the scene for Manchester right now such as Aitch, Just Banco and Meekz.
There will be Q & A’s with a bunch of special guests that include Shifty, who was the first artist from Manchester to do a Westwood Freestyle and garner real attention from the ‘clicky’ London scene, getting on tracks with the likes of Wiley in the early 2000’s.
The evening will all be curated at Northern Quarter’s favourite amongst Manchester’s creative scene, Common, and tickets will include a three course meal plus two glasses of wine. We’ve also been told that the dishes also play a story alongside some of the topics covered and tracks being played.
