Manchester video production collective dLo Media (dLo Production, dLo Apps and Elek Tronique) is celebrating its official launch on Friday 13th July. The charity fund-raiser will take place at Manchester’s legendary Dry Live and all will raise money for mental health charity the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

The event is set-to bring some of the North West’s top Dub Step and Drum and Bass artists together for a night of exclusive collaborations, live performances, DJ sets and much more.

Artists appearing include Beatport Dubstep chart-toppers Virus Syndicate, North Base, XTC b2b Sappo with Tonn Piper, Dawn Raid, Rolaz with Rob Dot P, KT Forrester, Gabi Gee, A Me B and Dollar, Fortune b2b Eastland, Semiotix and Mcdubbin.

Rolaz, DJ, Producer and Presenter for Elek Tronique said: “I’ll be performing a live set with 5 special guests, all playing for the love of music and a very special charity. This may be an all Manchester affair, but most importantly this is our dLo raising awareness of a charity many hold very close to their hearts.”

dLo are a fresh new video production house rooted in Manchester’s vibrant music scene. Over the past two years dLo have created video content for some of Manchester’s most exciting artists, events, venues, promoters and groups. These include Modeselektor, Virus Syndicate, Warehouse Project, Parklife, Sankeys, North Base and many more.

Turning the idea of a traditional production house on its head, dLo aim to create a truly collaborative environment where film-makers, musicians, animators, designers, photographers and other creative individuals can support each other whilst working on ambitious multi-disciplinary projects.

All profits from the event will go to (CALM), a charity formed in 2006 with the backing of Manchester music icon Tony Wilson to reduce the high suicide rate amongst men under 35 in the UK. Suicide is currently this demographic’s biggest killer, which is why CALM offers help and support via a helpline, website, free magazine and a variety of social media channels.

The event will be filmed by Elek Tronique, a dLo operated online electronic dance music TV show. It is also supported by award winning street wear company THTC, Mancunian clothing label Bait MCR, Manchester drum & Bass events Relapse and Subwoofah, photographers Lucy Ridges and Prankin’ as well as Chair TV who will be doing live visuals all night.

Adam Al Sened, Director and Editor for dLo Media and Elek Tronique said: “Our launch event at Dry Live is all about showcasing the best Manchester talent at a one-off event to celebrate the launch of dLo. We’re also really happy to support CALM, a fantastic charity and one who make a real difference to the lives of young men across the UK.

“Too often so many of Manchester’s young creatives are overlooked and not given a chance. It’s hard starting out in any sector, and can be even harder in the creative industries such as video, music, photography, arts, design and animation. We intend to support these creatives and grow with them, giving them a chance to work on the varied projects we have planned. In future we would love to setup workshops and work experience for youth of all ages, giving them a chance, as we all deserve.

“I really appreciate the help & support of all the dLo collective over the past couple of years within development, and would like to thank all the artists, events, clothing labels, record labels, venues & other individuals who have pulled together to make this event happen and to support CALM. Thanks!”
