Running from 2 pm-midnight, these debut daytime events are a chance to embrace a different energy, with DJs exploring new elements of their style. Four Tet is a producer and DJ known for his impeccable ability to weave together disparate elements into a heartfelt, soul-drenched whole. Four Tet has picked out selectors with serious musical passion to join him; from WHP favourites such as DJs Ben UFO and Anthony Naples, to rising star Josey Rebelle, who can explicate the links between anything from uptempo footwork to classic acid house. Annie Mac has spent over a decade at the forefront of dance music, predicting trends and shaping the future, and this month she is curating her own night at the infamous Warehouse Project where she will invite a selection of her favourite artists to Manchester Store Street. 2018 will be The Warehouse Project’s final season at Store Street warehouse, after four years inside the venue. It’s another Warehouse Project sell out, so keep a lookout for resale.
Tom Grennan | 12th Oct | Academy
It is safe to say that you can no longer label Tom Grennan as up and coming. For those lucky enough to have been following him from the start, you will remember in 2016 he was playing The Thirsty Scholar for Neighbourhood festival. Since then, he has been doing the rounds playing many many festivals this summer, but this month you can see him at the Academy while he’s still playing shows as intimate as ever. This is, of course, a massive sell out, so keep an eye on Twickets for face value resale.
The Coral | 13th Oct | Albert Hall
Having recently supported Manic Street Preachers on their Arena tour, The Coral announced their very own UK headline tour this month, following the release of their new album ‘Move Through The Dawn’. The influential Hoylake band’s first headline tour for two years will start in Newcastle and take in London’s Koko before culminating at Manchester Albert Hall on the 13th. Supporting on all dates comes from She Drew The Gun, the acclaimed Liverpool quartet signed to Coral frontman James Skelly’s Skeleton Key label.
Novo Amor | 16th Oct | Gorilla
Novo Amor is Welsh multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Ali Lacey. His emotive vocals and the sounds he uses, often formed through sonic experimentation, make for fantastically atmospheric songs that are both moving and striking. Editors | 18th Oct | Apollo
Editors are on a UK & Ireland tour which is the first in over three years and are on the road promoting their latest new album ‘Violence’ released earlier on in the year. The band have been going since 2002 and have six studio albums under their belt. If you’re a fan and haven’t yet got your ticket to their Manchester gig, grab it here, there are a few left.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever | 19th Oct | Academy
Melbourne five-piece Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are either the world’s most meandering pop band or its most efficient jam band. Over the course of two EP’s, the Melbourne quintet have mastered an infectious brand. The bands three alternating singer-guitarists – Tom Russo, Fran Keaney, and Joe White will be playing at the Academy on the 19th. It’s going to be a great gig. Grab your ticket.
Beach House | 19th Oct | Albert Hall
Indie rock duo Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally have spent the last decade making music. The Baltimore duo’s have released their new album titled ‘7′ which is their seventh album (funnily enough) and is a follow up to 2015’s ‘Thank your Lucky Stars’. Instead of recording all of the songs at once, they went into the studio five different times over the course of eleven months, recording the songs that they felt most excited about at the time. They have had a busy year touring America and they now make their way over to the UK to finish off. If you haven’t seen them live already catch them at their gig at the Albert Hall on the 19th, all tickets have sold out, however, you can pick up face value resale on Twickets.

Daphni | 20th Oct | Store Street
Dan Snaith, better known for his work as Caribou, returns to the WHP project as his alter-ego Daphni. Originally born as a side project to create new tracks that no one had heard for his Caribou sets, the Daphni alias has evolved into a headline act in its own right. There is still the distinct electronica from Snaith with the soft melodics being exchanged with tight percussive much more fitting of the Store Street arches. The album ‘Joli Mai’ released last year was a real showcase of how far Daphni has come. Last few tickets still available, be quick don’t miss it!
Superorganism | 22nd Oct | Ritz
Quirky Superorganism appeared early last year and was one of the buzziest band’s of 2017. The 8 piece Indie pop collective played Deaf Institute last time they were in town and they are hitting the road once again and back playing a slightly larger venue The Ritz. The refreshingly modern band based in London, who bonded over skype released their first self-titled album earlier this year. If you want to catch them while they are fresh grab a ticket to the gig.

Drum and bass band Rudimental from Hackney return with their second album. Legendary frontman of The Verve and acclaimed solo musician, Richard Ashcroft, is back in town and back playing a headline show at The Albert Hall. The intimate tour comes in support of his upcoming sixth studio album ‘Natural Rebel’, due to be released on the 19th of this month.
