May 27th 1990. Spike Island in Widnes. The Stone Roses, at the height of Madchester, play one of the biggest and best concerts ever, with over 27,000 people in attendance and support from the likes of Dave Haslam, MC Tunes, Frankie Bones and Paul Oakenfold.

Now, in these times of pottering around your house, United We Stream present a celebration of Spike Island by DJ Paul Oakenfold himself, and he’ll be going live from LA this Saturday 18th April at from 6pm.

Created by Night Time Economy Adviser to Greater Manchester (and co-founder of Parklife and the Warehouse Project) Sacha Lord, United We Stream will include singers, comedians, musicians, bands, poets, writers, presenters, actors & DJs with a line up expected to be published this week.

The channel will also be used for positive public service announcements and messaging regarding safety and social distancing.

Seventy per cent of all donations to UnitedWeStream.co.uk will go directly to a relief fund to support the Greater Manchester’s night time economy music venues, restaurants, bars, freelancers and cultural organisations who are unable to work or operate their businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The remaining donations will be split between 8% to Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity (8 per cent) and the Mayor Of Greater Manchester’s Charity (22 per cent).
