Manchester International Festival presents three intimate gigs by the incomparable Sinéad O’Connor, in the Festival’s own 350 seater Pavilion Theatre.  These shows will feature the live debut of new material from her forthcoming album Home, released late summer 2011. O’Connor will perform a full live band set plus a stripped down acoustic section.

Ranked among the most distinctive and expressive pop stars of the 1990s, O’Connor achieved worldwide success with debut album  The Lion and the Cobra and her devastatingly direct version of  Nothing Compares 2 U. This revolutionary artist has been making music, rejecting stereotypes and defying expectations for more than a quarter of a century.

For almost 25 years, it’s O’Connor’s voice that has endured: raw, spiritually charged, both ancient and of-the-moment, it is a unique instrument and a sound to be treasured. Additionally, O’Connor is now recognised for her lengthy commitment to exposing the Catholic Church’s cover up of sexual abuse by clergy in countries around the world.

Produced by Manchester International Festival.
