Laura Marling | 03 June | Band On The Wall
Singer songwriter Laura Marling along with Mike Lindsay bring their new collaborative project LUMP to band on the Wall for two very special performances. LUMP was born of good timing and predestined compatibility. It began one night in June 2016, when Mike Lindsay – founder member of Tunng and Throws, and a prolific, mercury prize winning producer – was introduced to Grammy- nominated, Brit award winning singer songwriter Laura Marling after her show supporting Neil Young in London. On meeting,Lindsay and Marling discovered the had long been admirers of each others work. Grab yourself a ticket to see these two talents play together at a great Manchester venue. There is an early show and a late show.

Courtney Barnett | 04 June | Albert Hall
Aussie songwriter Courtney Barnett is now onto album number Two ‘Tell Me How You Really’ she will be playing Manchester’s Albert Hall on Monday. Courtney is now one of the best alt-rock lyricists out there, with her informal stream of consciousness vocal style being one of the main reasons she stands out on record. Its going to be a great gig, support on the night comes from Loose Tooth. The gig has recently moved to a larger venue so there are still a few tickets available. If you can’t make this one, Courtney is returning to Manchester in November and plays the Ritz.

Newton Faulkner | 04 June | Deaf Institute
Newton Faulkner is playing a series of intimate live shows in June to mark over a decade of performing. He takes things back to his roots by playing in small venues, just as he did when he began in the first place. He’s sold over 1.5 million records and had over 180 million streams too. Later this year he’ll be releasing an album, his very first ‘Best Of’, featuring brand new tracks too. Of course this one is sold out already so have a look out for face value resale tickets.

 

Patti Smith & Her Band | 05 June | Apollo
Patti Smith and her band embarked on a tour to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her seminal debut album ‘Horses’ which
coincides with the release of her new album ‘Banga.’ Grab a ticket for the Apollo gig.

RHYE | 06 June | Ritz
For those who don’t know Rhye, Rhye is an R&B musical project of Canadian singer Mike Milosh. It originally consisted of him and Danish instrumentalist Robin Hannibal. Their gifted songwriting, breathtaking vocals and skilful instrumental arrangements combine with a R&B influence. It’s been Five years after the release of their debut album ‘Woman’ Rhye have released their second album ‘Blood’ and is hailed as “reserved, understated, and brilliant” by NPR Music, “ soul pop that hits all the high notes” by Wall Street Journal, and “a triumph” by NME. They are definitely worth checking out. Get yourself a ticket for their gig at the Ritz this month.

LCD Soundsystem | 06 June | Apollo
LCD Soundsystem have just wrapped up the American leg of their world tour and are now in the UK playing some very nice venues. Excited to hear their new material live from ‘American Dream’? Find yourself a ticket for the sold out Manchester gig at the Apollo. If you can’t make it on the 6th don’t worry they are headlining many of the big European festivals this summer, like; Sonar and Best Kept Secret.

 

Haim | 11 June | Apollo
Haim are touring their latest album ‘Something to Tell You’ The record followed their 2013 breakout debut. The Sister Sister Sister tour kicked off in the US earlier on in the year and they are now in the UK, with a gig at Manchester Apollo this month. Its a sell out but you can join the waiting list for any resale.

Beyonce & Jay-Z | 13 June | Etihad Stadium
The most powerful couple in music are crossing the pond for shows this month! The couple will now perform five shows for the ‘Run 2’ tour – starting at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on 6 June and then heading to Glasgow’s Hampden Park on 9 June, Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on 13 June and culminating at the London Stadium on 15 and 16 June. The couple previously headed on the road together in 2014 with their first On the Run tour, while Beyoncé was last seen live in the UK in 2016 as part of her Formation world tour. Jay-Z’s last tour, The 4:44 Tour in 2017, supported his 13th album of the same name and played 32 dates across the US. It’s going to be big have a look for tickets here.

David Byrne | 18 June | Apollo
David Byrne has just announced an extensive world tour in support of his forthcoming solo record, American Utopia. He will perform songs from the new album, as well as classics from his solo career and his days with Talking Heads. A twelve-piece band will also join Byrne on stage for a choreographed concert that he has called “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense.” David Byrne will be supported by Laura Mvula on the night, it’s a sell out so check out Twickets for any face value resale.

 

Foo Fighters | 19 June | Etihad Stadium
Foos have a busy year touring with the ‘Concrete and Gold’ tour, they are set to play a huge show at the Etihad Stadium with Cribbs and Wolf Alice. Katy Perry has announced Hailee Steinfeld as the opening act for the highly-anticipated UK leg of WITNESS: the UK leg kicks off with two nights at The O2 arena in London, then onto Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool and to Manchester Arena on the 22nd June.
