Manchester music fans will be pleased to hear that celebrated hip hop night ‘Juicy’ is set to move to Black Dog Ballroom for a weekly residency. From March 3rd, the night’s creators, DJs Alex and Christos, will be on hand to fill the dance floor every Friday from 11pm-4am.

Starting back in 2011, Juicy was the only place for Manchester’s students to be seen on a Friday night. Renowned for serving up an individual, energetic and experimental mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, Bashment and UK Garage, Juicy built a large fan base who loyally followed the night from Joshua Brooks, Deaf Institute and Gorilla.

…they still want a quality hip-hop night they can go to straight from work on a Friday. It’s for this captive audience that we are making a comeback.

Owners and DJs Alex and Christos, also built a covetable reputation securing gigs at venues such as Fabric and WHP, playing alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg, Kelis, Wu-Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, De La Soul and countless others. Fast forward seven years and the duo are moving across town to the Northern Quarter, fuelled by demand from an ever-growing group of young professionals
who want to relive the music and the nights they enjoyed as students.

Juicy DJ and Founder said:
“As an established Manchester clubbing brand, we had a very loyal following of students back when we started. Inevitably our student audience grew up but what never changed was their musical tastes. Even though they are now a little older, a lot of our fans remained in Manchester to live and work, and they still want a quality hip-hop night they can go to straight from work on a Friday. It’s for this captive audience that we are making a comeback.”

Perfectly placed in the uber-cool Northern Quarter, Black Dog Ballroom is one of Manchester’s most popular drinking dens. Ideal for those who want to enjoy some relaxed after work drinks and a game of pool, or for those that want to stay out for a night of dancing.

As one of the few venues in the area with a bespoke club room, The Bunker, and a late licence, Black Dog Ballroom provides the perfect setting for the next chapter of the Juicy story.

Entry to Juicy is £3 on the door. Visit
