Micron & 909 join forces and head to Gorilla

If you exclude football, because it's boring, and music because they are both brilliant in their own ways - there really is no need for the standard Manchester vs. Liverpool rivalry at all.

Even with the M62 trying it’s best to divide the two cities, revered clubbing brands Micron and 909 have joined forces to bring partners in crime, Andrew Weatherall and Ivan Smagghe to cement this Northern brotherhood to host an event to remember at Gorilla on Friday 6th October.

Bloody legendary Manchester promoters, Micron have recently been responsible for bringing some key players to their parties, including Carl Craig, Derrick Carter and Josh Wink, as well as organising fundraisers for the victims of the Manchester Arena attacks.

Joining Micron to host the night is Liverpool institution 303’s Mancunian sister project, 909, which has welcomed some of electronic music’s key names to the neighbouring city over the past year, including John Digweed and Dave Clarke.

Widely regarded as one of the best selectors in the industry, Andrew Weatherall has an encyclopaedic knowledge of music, his eclectic record collection is filled with anything from low tempo gems to percussive house and techno. Add into the equation Ivan Smagghe’s renowned love for the obscure and it’s a no brainer that a truly unique clubbing experience is to be expected in Gorilla’s main room.

In line with their recent policy of a three-hour minimum set time for headliners, the two titans of electronic music, both part of the fabric of club culture, will play back to back for a mammoth five hours.

Residents from both Micron and 909 are set to round off the night in the bar area from 8pm – 2am.
