RUDE is one of the UK’s legendary house music nights and celebrates its 17th Birthday on September Friday 2nd, marking a remarkable achievement for any club night. The party is headlined by Manchester’s own star Jason Herd, with two rooms packed full of amazing house music as the birthday takes place in one of the world’s leading club, Sankeys in Ancoats.RUDE started life way back on 1st April 1994 in Reflections, underneath the now defunct NIKS nightclub. At its peak around 1995-1996 it was attracting over 900 people every Friday night. Having successful spells at most of Oldham nightclubs over the years CLUB 57 (now Tokyo Project), REFLECTIONS (twice), TOKYO PROJECT (twice), FUSION, KODE, EROS (in Royton) & THE BUDDA LOUNGE it’s also had extremely successful residencies outside of Oldham at KALISTOS in Huddersfield and  THE DANCE FACTORY in Preston.

But RUDE’S legendary status was cemented when it moved to CLUB 360 for what turned out to be a 5 year residency turning a little known cafe bar, originally started as a cafe bar to serve the Art Gallery, into Oldham’s coolest club, packed to capacity every Saturday night before its doors shut for the last time on October 28th 2006. In the 5 years Rude Operated at Club 360 it brought some of the biggest DJS, P.A.S & Club Tours to Oldham that the scene had to offer like DANNY RAMPLING, JEREMY HEALY, BRANDON BLOCK, KATHY BROWN, LISA MILLET, ATFC, JASON HERD, SEAMUS HAJI, COPYRIGHT, SHOVELL, GRAEME PARK, TOM WAINRIGHT, JIM SHAFT RYAN, SOUL CENTRAL, MISS MONEYPENNYS, DEFECTED IN THE HOUSE, PUKKA UP, KINKY MALINKI, ONEPHATDEEVA, JON FITZ and many, many more!
RUDE has been there, done it and bought the t-shirt and remains a much loved and respected party – and now, for its huge 17th birthday, the party is taking over Manchester’s amazing Sankeys to help usher in the celebrations. The special guest is one of Manchester’s very own stars, Jason Herd, a talisman on the local scene and also a globally-revered spinner. There’s a brace of talent supporting Jason in the Basement, as well as a RUDE takeover in the Bar spearheaded by Daz Pearson, Danny Knight and Mike Thewlis.

House music doesn’t really get much better than this – RUDE will be showing how it’s really done on Friday 2nd September. Happy birthday RUDE!!!
