Miles Kane still only 32 now has Three solo albums under his belt, tonight he is out promoting his newest album ‘Coup De Grace’. It’s the first of Two sold out gigs at Manchester Academy.

The perfect support band for tonight’s gig comes from local lads CABBAGE. The five piece more than just warm up the crowd with their immense mosh pit early doors, they have a huge fan base in attendance which amounts to a decent crowd, it almost feels like it’s their headline show.

The Moseley lads are on form, but then when are they ever not?

His walkout track gets the crowd going. The stage is ready with huge lit up letters on the back curtain drop ‘Coup De Grace’, Mr Kane takes to the stage to the sound of his own name echoed around the venue by the audience, he launches into “Loaded”.

“Inhaler” is next up and sends the crowd into a frenzied mosh, with drinks flying through the air. Rock star Kane greets the crowd with “F#ck off you Manc Tw#ts

Kane is joined by his new band, featuring the hugely talented drummer Victoria Smith who has just finished touring with Soulwax. Miles Kane’s band have been out and about on a lengthy tour of Britain testing material from his third-solo album, so their sound is very sharp.

As the set progresses.‘Too Little, Too Late’ is an early stand out song, shortly followed by the big soulful number ‘The Wrong Side of Life’ where Kane gives his most passionate vocal delivery. Kane looks like he is loving every second.

The gig plays to a close with ‘Coup De Grace’ and ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are’ but there is no sign of movement towards the exits, as the crowd waits in anticipation for the encore.

Returning he plays ‘Colour of the Trap’ and then there was really only one song left to finish; “Come Closer”. The Last Shadow Puppet member however looks his most comfortable performing his biggest hits.

Despite the rowdiness of the crowd and the intense heat of the venue, you couldn’t fault Kane on his performance this evening. The truth is though, Miles Kane is a showman. He will finish off his tour on the 8th December in his home Town Liverpool.
