Thomas chugs down the line and grinds to a halt with the hissing of steam. It truly is magical seeing Thomas the Tank Engine in REAL life.

“All Aboard” the Fat Controller yells again, as children skip onto the big blue steam train with a big friendly smile

Thomas takes his passengers to Tidmouth Sheds. We are all then given a certificate and sticker to certify that we had become junior engineers and ready to join Thomas on his next adventure.

Let’s go! Next stop, onto Brandon Docks (or Ramsbottom) to meet “Diesel” a sad old train who needs extra coal to get going.

“Mind the step” Fat Controller yells as we step onto the platform. “Hiya boys and girls we are Rusty and Dusty” two goofy looking platform sweepers perform to everyone’s favourite “Thomas and Friends” theme tune whilst children have the opportunity to have their face painted or maybe take home dog shaped balloon.

Not only is this day for Thomas The Tank Engine fans but also for those who enjoy a ride on a steam train. In general a great family fun day out.

The next event on the East Lancashire Railway will be the Halloween Ghost Train on 26th, 27th & 31st October.

Tickets are priced at £15.50 for adults and £9.50 for children.
