Nestled within the grounds of Heaton Park Garden Centre, this mammoth new messy play feature played host to hordes of local families all keen to partake in complimentary arty activities such as paper crafts, pot painting, and slime making.

Featuring a host of arts and craft pods along with indoor giant games such as Twister, Hoopla and Connect 4 along with a refreshments bar, the new party tunnel provided the ideal environment for children to have good old-fashioned fun with parents. It sits alongside a cozy craft lodge, an on-site cafe, an outdoor mud kitchen and an extensive outdoor activity area ideal for exercise boot camps, scavenger hunts and giant games such as Chess, providing families with everything needed for a creatively stimulating day out.

Following on from the success of the open day, ‘The Place to Potter’ are hosting a Halloween Extravaganza on Sunday 29th October from 1pm-4pm. Aimed at both adults and children, activities at this spooky get together will include Halloween bingo, a family fancy dress competition, lots of themed games, tricks and treats and a disco with live DJ.

Other immersive events on the schedule are Glow in the Dark nights on November 4th and 5th. The tunnel will be transformed into a purpose-built glow pod and activities will include glow crafts, glow face paint, glow tattoos and glow nail polish.

November 19th will see the tunnel imaginatively restyled again to host a Hogwarts Potion School, offering potion lessons, cape and wand making and magical craft creation.

The Place to Potter Manager Kelly Harris said: “The launch was a great success and we’re now looking forward to welcoming new classes, events, and party bookings. As we have so much extra space we’ll be adding to the workshop schedules, providing more classes for both adults and children and already booked for adults are yoga, flower arranging, and Christmas decoration making. Being creative is not just for kids, it’s a great release no matter how old you are and we want to encourage that at The Place to Potter.”

Along with daily drop-in craft sessions and further adult classes, The Place to Potter is also offering a half-term holiday camp running from October 23rd-27th. Designed to combine outdoor play with creative activities, the camp provides a well balanced, engaging and stimulating schedule for children aged 6-12 years.

The Place to Potter is open daily from 9am-4pm. (Booking is not required for daily drop-in sessions and prices are dependent on the choice of craft activity.)

Half Term Holiday Camp will run from the 23rd-27th from 9.30am—3.30pm daily. (Booking required)
