Selfridges hosts Destination Denim event in celebration of the world’s best denim brands and new exclusive styles – 2 and 3 April

From the seventies flare to the classic skinny, denim is one of the hottest trends this season, and to celebrate Selfridges is set to give its customers an unrivalled shopping experience by offering free consultations from the denim world’s top labels over 2nd and 3rd April.

The store’s team of denim connoisseurs will be on hand for two days, with the aim of finding shoppers their perfect pair of jeans. The event will unveil all the latest fits and washes from top brands including Paige, JBrand, Citizens of Humanity, True Religion, Goldsign and many more. The denim specialists will devote their time to finding the perfect pair of jeans for customers’ different body shapes and personal style preference.

For women that are apple-shaped, the experts recommend choosing a wide-legged or flare jean to give a more proportional look, such as the JBrand Seline bell bottom jean, available in store at £200. With a wide leg and bell shaped silhouette to balance the silhouette, this flattering style is a new classic for the wardrobe.

For pear shapes, go with waistlines that rest slightly below the natural waistline. Selfridges recommends Citizens of Humanity, amber boot cut jeans available at £215. The boot cut denims are cut with a mid rise waist for a flattering finish and finished with a five pocket detailing, zip fly and the label’s designer bird logo on the back pocket.

For those with an athletic shape, the skinny or straight leg jean is the perfect option as they can add curves to the frame. Paige denim, Laguna skinny bootcut jeans are ideal and are available at £200. The skinny bootcut style folds to the form to hug the right places and forgive problem areas.

For the classic hour-glass shape, the solution is to accentuate the waist so wear jeans that have defined waistlines. Straight or wide legs will showcase curves like the JBrand, seventies- inspired Bette high rise wide leg jeans, which are available for £255 only at Selfridges.

With hundreds of brands and styles to choose from, united with expert advice, customers are guaranteed to discover their perfect fit from the latest styles, shapes and washes for spring/summer 2011.
