It’s surprising though how many people haven’t actually been to Manchester. You might have Uni mates or family that just haven’t managed to get here, I myself have never been to Newcastle or Birmingham and I’m okay with that.
You can take your mates for a night out around Manchester sure, but why not instead serve them up a fine slice of culture in what I think are Manchester’s Finest places to take your mate who’s never been to the rainiest place on earth.
The Drop
The taste of the Caribbean in Manchester? You mad? I am yes, but that has nothing to do with this. The Drop serves up the most incredible dishes until 2200 every night. I’d recommend The Hench Drop Box to yourself, you absolutely will not want to share this one. I’ve never been to Jamaica so I don’t know how authentic it is, but I do know it’s delicious and somewhere your mate whoever they are will love too.

Moose Coffee
Breakfast was once called the most important meal of the day, it’s also my favourite. This is Canadian style breakfast in Manchester. And it’s done right, so so right.I always order too many pancakes and every time I go back I say “No I’ll limit myself this time” and I fail every single time and next time I go, I’ll fail then too.Get there early though, people are often seen queueing out the door, better to see them queuing from the inside though.

The Old Pint Pot
This is a really good open mic night, they have lots of different types of musicians, poets and comedians that perform, the calibre of which is normally very good. If you’re a musician yourself why not write a song for your friend and perform it for them. I’m sure they’ll love it and won’t feel uncomfortable in any way shape or form.
