Mulberry designs a new family with vintage travel inspiration

Inspired by the nostalgic glamour of vintage steamer trunks, Mulberry introduces new contemporary classics with the Travel Bag family!

The romanticism of travels past has been captured and channelled into three styles that don’t need to wait for a holiday! They are perfect everyday bags, in a totally new and gorgeous concoction of leather finishes and bespoke textures.

This new family’s design characteristics were inspired by the details of steamer trunks, with metal tipped corners or trim and a smart metal logo plaque evocative of traditional luggage tags. Brand new finishes include Oak Shiny Lambskin, Lizard Print with embossed ‘scale’ texture, statement Mixed Lizard Print and Haircalf and the two-tone Natural Animal Print.

The Travel Camera Bag is based on a compact, retro cross-body style, an ideal run-around for activities at home or abroad. Metal tips adorn the top handle and belt-straps and the focus is on practicality, with a large secure front pocket and adjustable strap.

Based on our iconic Alexa design, the Travel Day Bag and Oversized Travel Bag have all the cool functionality of their predecessors, with traditional satchel straps, plaited top handle and adjustable cross-body strap. The family’s signature touches are presented in the metal corners and tree-embossed plaque.

Members of the Travel Bag family have been seen on the arms of Juno Temple, who carried the Travel Day Bag in Oak Shiny Lambskin, Hayley Atwell who carried the Travel Day Bag in Nightshade Blue Mixed Lizard Print and Haircalf and Blake Lively, who was on the set of Gossip Girl with the Travel Day Bag in Marshmallow White Mixed Lizard Print and Haircalf – please find the images attached.

The Travel Bag family will be available to view online on from 15 February.
