mEats… Bipolar Sunshine

We joined the Manchester boy-done-good for a spot of sushi during a rare visit back from LA, where we talked about pressing issues such as the lack of toys in cereals nowadays, his obsession with Artificial General Intelligence, and the downfall of Ian Beale.

Born and raised in Manchester, Adio Marchant aka Bipolar Sunshine now lives in sunny LA, but we managed to bag ourselves an exclusive catch up with him during a rare visit back to his home town earlier this year.

We delved into Adio’s musical career and the ‘Grey’ movement which he has pioneered – incorporating a multitude of sounds inspired by Indie, Acid House, Hip Hop and R&B, but managing to defy any real category or definition.

The music that Adio creates comes from both his influences of growing up in Manchester, and more current issues that are happening around the world every single day.

Just having literally stepped off a plane from Coachella to talk to me, he also touched on the allure of festivals, and how they offer the perfect opportunity to reach new audiences and showcase a wide selection of an artist’s work.

Cottonopolis provided the back-drop and stunning dishes throughout. Dishes sampled included Wagyu Tartare with honey mustard miso and a Quail egg, Loch Duart Salmon Nigiri and Duck & Plum Gyoza.
