Around this time last year, once lockdown had started to kick in and the weather was glorious for ages – many of us turned our attention to the greener things in life.
We all got outdoors to tend to our gardens, if we had one, and if we didn’t? Well, balconies, windowsills and the odd pantry became literal hotbeds of flowers, plants and anything else that we could try and grow within the confines of our boredom.
I’m certain that many of us got a little bit obsessed, and it seems unlikely that this year is going to be any different – as we all patiently await the eventual opening of everything and a return to ‘normal’ life.
Well, you’ll be pleased to know that coming soon to the city is The Manchester Flower Show, a city-wide trail of floral displays, green installations, outdoor dining and entertainment.
Set to take place from 29th May – 6th June, the Flower Show will be the city’s first major event after re-opening in Mid May and will see Manchester’s street, balconies, lamp posts and shop windows transformed by the region’s best floristry, produce and gardening talent.
The original Manchester Flower Show started all the way back in 1955 but took a 15 year hiatus, only to return to the popular King Street Festival in 2019. But this time – they’ll be taking over the WHOLE CITY!
