Ornella began her business during one of the early lockdowns, delivering homemade Italian food across Manchester alongside her partner Jamie whilst on paternity leave from her job at Pollen Bakery.
Her food has been raved about by folk across the city, with many calling her Lobster Raviolli one of the best pasta dishes they’ve ever tried! And now, Ornella’s has just announced that it is currently working on opening a deli pasta shop and takeaway in Denton.
They’ve roped in a load of great independent businesses to help with the project, too! Spray Group Ltd are helping to paint and coat the new venture, Inner Living, a construction company, are helping fit the kitchen and Taylor D Flooring and Carpets will fit the flooring.
They’ve also got artist, Liam Hopkins helping out with the interior art and Crafty Creations, a Manchester-based bespoke fabrications company specialising in handmade industrial decor and furnishings for the brand-new deli.
This is all super exciting because Ornella’s food is VERY special. Her menus are seasonal, and she creates her unique dishes from fresh, local ingredients.
Popular additions to her menu include the classically fresh Penne Arrabiata, the Mushroom and Truffle Raviolli, Pork Belly Tagitaille and, of course, the Big Don – Mr Lobster Raviolli.
You can expect all of this and more, including freshly baked Arancini and Crispy Parmigiana, and a whole host of rare Italian ingredients if you fancy trying your hand at DIY pasta making.
If you want a taste of Ornella’s food at a sit-down restaurant, she also holds Supper Clubs at Pollen that consist of a six course Italian menu that allows you to explore the culinary origins of her business. They usually have a great wine selection to choose from, too!
There are none planned at the moment, as Ornella’s is currently putting all of its focus on the deli shop, but definitely look out for some making an appearance during 2022!
