The award-winning international smash hit musical The Bodyguard will be heading to the Palace Theatre on Monday 3rd April 2023 as part of a UK and Ireland wide tour.
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. Based on the 1992 Oscar-nominated movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, this romantic thriller features a host of Whitney classics including; Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and one of the biggest hit songs of all time – I Will Always Love You.
The musical adaptation was first brought to life by Thea Sharrock and Alex Dinelaris in 2012, when it premiered at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End. That year, it was nominated for four Olivier Awards.
To date, the musical has been performed to over 3.6 million people in fifteen different countries and forty-five US cities.
The Bodyguard The Musical will kickstart its 2023 tour in Glasgow at the start of the year, and will arrive in Manchester to host a two week residency at the Palace Theatre from April 3rd – April 15th.
