Scare Skate will be returning to Cathedral Gardens, just in time for Halloween. The annual slippery spooktacular will set up shop as the city’s biggest outdoor skating rink from October 27 to 31.
Ahead of the rink being set up for the festive season, there will be a giant Christmas tree adorned with a huge LED spider’s web, complete with a huge spider at the top.
A lap around the rink will be accompanied by a spooky soundtrack and themed props for those Instagrammable moments. And, of course, fancy dress is highly encouraged.
Tickets will cost £15.50 for adults and £12.50 for kids, with discounts for families, groups and season tickets. There will also be discounts for students and blue light card holders too, and 25% off early bird tickets bought before August 31.
Kelly Baker, who coordinates the event for Skate Manchester said: “Halloween is an integral part of the Manchester calendar, and we are thrilled to see Scare Skate play an important part in the city celebrations for another year.
“Scare Skate is the perfect activity to bring the family together this season and we are looking forward to celebrating Halloween in the Cathedral Gardens grounds before transforming the rink into a winter wonderland in November.”
Once the Halloween celebrations are over, the spider will apparently head ‘into hibernation’, as the rink gets ready for its festive season up to Christmas and beyond, winding up on January 2.
