Bursting into life with one of musical theatre’s most well know classics, ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ Buffalo Bill and his Wild West crew roll into Manchester with this Tony award-winning version of Irving Berlin’s much loved classic, Annie Get Your Gun.

From the producers of West Side Story and South Pacific this touring production is bold bright and ballsy. First making its debut on Broadway way back in 1946, Manchester has been chosen by Ambassador Theatre Group to premiere their new baby and judging by the eager audience, they’re well up for it!
Previously seen treading the boards in Chicago, comedian/actor Norman Pace sets the scene for us as narrator come showman Buffalo Bill, introducing each scene with enthusiasm in a role that he clearly loves to play. Jason Donovan takes on the role of Bill’s star shooter Frank Butler whilst Emma Williams dazzles as gun toting, sharp shooting Annie Oakley.

As the circus top above Paul Fansworth’s set unfurls our love/hate, love story begins. Featuring classics such as ‘Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly’ and ‘Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better’ you can’t help but smile your way through this production. Add to this thrilling thigh slapping choreography from Lizzie Gee and you’ve got a belter of a show.

Emma Williams is truly the star of the show and has the audience in the palm of her hand from the word go, sassy and sharp as Annie Oakley she’s worth the ticket price alone. Her voice is faultless and her comic timing spot on. Although it may be soap/pop stars whose faces bring the audiences in it’s the true talents of performers like Williams that keeps them coming back for more. With a strong ensemble cast and great direction from Ian Talbot this is a fab fun production for all the family to enjoy.
