The rest of the Finest crew have been loving a bit of Brasserie Abode action recently and to be honest they won’t stop bloody going on about the place. Now I’m piping up as well. This lovely hotel, restaurant and bar near Piccadilly have a deal on at the moment of Luxury Seafood & a bottle of Prosecco for two for £60. The big daddy here though comes on a Sunday when they offer probably the best afternoon of food and drinks in town. Available every Sunday, you can tuck into a brilliant Sunday roast alongside unlimited Prosecco for only £25 per person. Their Sunday Socials take place between 12.30pm and 5.30pm and once you’ve ordered you have 2 hours to take advantage of the free fizz!

Pier Eight down next to The Lowry at Salford Quays have a brilliant Bottomless Prosecco deal from Thursday to Saturday, so if you find yourself down there watching something at the theatre or avoiding the Outlet Mall, pop in and get some fizz in you. Join them for dinner after 8pm and all you have to do is buy 3 courses from their a la carte menu and the fizz is free. Proper good that innit!

Menagerie seems to me like it’s been designed to be the perfect place to drink Prosecco – and it’s definitely worked. I reckon they must get through more bottles here than Sting did when he was stuck on that desert island in the Seventies. To begin with, every weekday Menagerie have a Cocktail Club where you can get 2-4-1 Prosecco by the glass – as well as other less fizzy cocktails and wine. Then there is the Bottomless Brunch that they offer every week which does exactly what you would expect – poached eggs, avocado and fizz. Basically, all you need to do is pick two dishes and get unlimited prosecco for £40.

Black Dog Ballroom & Dog Bowl
Bob on down to one of the Black Dog Ballroom’s (and Dog Bowl) after 5pm on a Friday and you can get jolly on their imaginatively named Fizz Face Friday. So, if you’re in the Northern Quarter or around the Oxford Road Corridor and you get a thirst on – step in for a full bottle of Prosecco for only £12, or if you’re feeling especially fancy or have decided to wear a top hat and monocle for your night out – a bottle of champers is £30. It says that it ends at ‘late’ which could mean anything, but with the fizz being so cheap, I doubt you’ll last until then anyway.

Festa Italiana
Seeing as it’s probably Italy’s biggest export, beating pizza and the Super Mario Bros to first place this year, Prosecco will take pride and place at this year’s Festa Italiana which takes place on the weekend of the 13th – 15th July. Of course, it won’t be the only thing here – the festival is packed full of proper nice Italian food, workshops and beers – all celebrating the best of what Italy has to offer. I believe that it will be the best for you to rock up on the Saturday, find a nice picnic table in the sun and spend 4 hours getting sloshed on Aperol Spritz’ while eating deli meats. It’s what the Italians would do so why not join em!?

You probably wouldn’t think a basement bar on Oldham Street would be on this list but here it is. The reason is because they hold a weekly Friday night bottomless drink event called Bites & Booze between 5pm and 8pm. You need to pre-book it, but once you do all you need to do is cruise on down, choose one ‘bite’ off their menu, and then pay either £15 for bottomless beers or £20 for bottomless Prosecco. You’ve then got 3 hours to drink as much as you can. Get their Mozzarella Dippers and you will be getting 2 of your 5 a day – grapes and cheese.

Gino D’Acampo
Between filming that TV show with that Leeds fella and rustling up a storm in the This Morning studio while Phil & Holly giggle about the shape of some Italian salami, Gino D’Acampo has opened up a few restaurants in the city as well as a dedicated ‘Prosecco Bar’ in the Arndale. There’s more than 40 Proseccos to choose from, as well as Italian wine – it’s one of the best places to enjoy the fizzes. If you go there between 4pm and 7pm on a weekday, they are in full-on Aperitivo mode – so when you get a drink they’ll give you some Chichetti for free. For all those people who don’t have a clue what Chichetti is, don’t worry I’ve Googled it and it means “Small snack or Side Dish”.

Albert’s Schloss
As the millions of Instagram posts that you see every week will tell you, the interior designers at Albert Schloss came up with the brilliant idea to have a button on tables that has a little label saying ‘Push for Prosecco’. I’ll be honest with you – I’ve never pushed it – so I don’t know if Prosecco just turns up with a waiter or if it just does nothing. Rubbish journalism indeed. What I do know is that they have a few great Prosecco cocktails including the French 75 (£8.50), a blend of Monkey 47 gin, Prosecco and lemon. Right up my street that one.

Salvi’s Cucina
As a staple of every Italian’s diet – Prosecco is consumed for breakfast on their Ricicles, for lunch with cheese and for dinner on its own – usually 3 bottles worth. Highly inaccurate this may be – the Italians do enjoy a little tipple in the afternoon and this usually comes with a bit of grub to keep the booze at bay. Called an Aperitivo, if you go to Milan you can’t move for places offering you a bevvie and a load of free food on the table in which to pick at while chatting to your mates about Love Island. Salvi’s in the Corn Exchange have got involved with this idea and shoved it into the happy faces of us Mancunians – with an Aperitivo Time from Sunday to Friday between 4pm and 6:30pm. For £10 you can choose a drink – and because this is an article about Prosecco, it must be that – and you will also receive a deli board of imported Italian cured meats, cheese, olives and breads. Nice.
