Contact Theatre are opening their 2017 Autumn season in September with a brand new play which will feature 100 genuine Man City fans – no professional actors at all – and they need your help!
The unique theatre performance is called `We’re Not Really Here: A Football Opera’ but don’t worry, it’s not really an opera and there is no singing other than the chants and songs associated with the club.
This is a piece dedicated to what it means to be a football fan – the highs, the lows, the banter and the songs. It is a unique theatre piece that puts the fans centre-stage, where the audience sit in the middle as if they are on the pitch – watching the fans as if they are watching a match!
Contact are looking for people happy to do what they do week in-week out on the terraces and at the games: the songs, the banter, the chants. The idea is that the audience gets to experience what only a footballer normally sees and hears – fans proper going for it.
No acting experience is needed. All you need to take part is the commitment to the some of the rehearsal period and all public performances. Rehearsal times will be arranged according to your daytime or evening availability. All rehearsals and performances will take place at Contact, Oxford Road.
Rehearsals: Saturday 9th September-Wednesday 20th September
Performances: Wednesday 20th September- Saturday 23rd September (4 days, 5 performances)
