Festival 41 will be presenting a two-day festival with its main stage being filled with a full day of Comedy and a full day of music. Featuring a wide variety of performers and well known headline performers.
The Comedy day features some seriously funny people and well-known TV headliners. So far there has been a whole host of announcements including several circuit favourites adored by regular live comedy fans, with more exciting announcements coming soon.
The Music day has already seen announcements such as Scouting for Girls and the BBC 2/BBC 1Xtra DJ Trevor Nelson. Plus, there will be some local stars and some exciting announcements coming soon.
Festival41 has been developed by an Urmston based single mum, Carla Speight, who is determined to change the way festivals include their audience. “Festivals are for the audience to come together and enjoy a weekend of great entertainment.” She has a long history working in the entertainment and festival industries as a freelance photographer and writer.
This has given her direct insight into what audience members want from a festival, and over the years she has developed her knowledge of what makes a festival work well. Apart from great performances; the food, drinks, art, activities and the friendly vibe combine to create the best festival weekends. Festival 41 has all of these elements and more.
Festival41 is about community, music, comedy, arts, dance and so much more. Built on pride for the Urmston area and a long-standing experience in the entertainment industry; Festival41’s Director has collated some of the best parts of the larger festivals and revolutionised the approach to accessibility and community engagement at a festival.
Festivals up and down the country regularly fall short in accessibility for disabled people. At Festival41 there are a large number of plans in place to ensure all the community can enjoy the festival experience. Wheelchair access throughout the site, BSL interpreters, Assistant dog friendly, a sensory zone for autistic people and accessible for visually impaired people. Plus at Festival41 there will be hoisted changing facilities available for those with more complex and additional needs.
There will be a children’s area available during their music day (1st July). This is not the usual children’s area experience. There will be dance, music arts, science, magic and comedy workshops. Plus, there will be shows throughout the day, combining a variety of experiences designed to inspire imaginations. These are all included in the ticket price to take the pressure off parents worrying about extra costs and like the rest of the festival, the children’s area is fully accessible.
