Locke Hotels introduces Manchester’s first design-led aparthotel

The development of the 160-unit lifestyle aparthotel is underway, which will offer 24sqm studios and one-bedroom suites.

Located on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street, overlooking Rochdale Canal, Whitworth Locke fuses the comfort and autonomy of designer residential living with the character, service and amenities of a lifestyle hotel.

Once a cotton mill comprised of three buildings, the space is being transformed by acclaimed New York architects / designers Grzywinski + Pons. The finished development will celebrate the glorious past of industrial Manchester whilst embracing its dynamic and vibrant future.

Awarded the Serviced Apartment Industry Breakthrough & Innovation Award by ASAP and recognized by the Guardian as one of the top 10 design hotels globally, Whitworth Locke will be a significant evolution of its two predecessors.

The team has taken measures to include coworking space, a CrossFit Gym, a cocktail bar, healthy all-day dining, apparel kiosk and a partnership with local Foundation Coffee (www.foundationcoffeehouse.co.uk) to oversee the ecosystem’s coffee and cultural programme (i.e. yoga, live music, movie nights, etc.).

Finally, all amenities are linked together by a glass Atrium which is being redesigned into a lush urban greenhouse.
