The 22nd Manchester Food and Drink Festival kicks off this month and it promises to be bigger than ever before with a fantastic array of talent from all over the city’s food and drink world.
The Festival Hub is located in the new spot, Cathedral Gardens, complete with the futuristic igloo-shaped Dining Dome.
Open from 12pm-11pm every day, The Festival Hub is completely free and home to some outstanding food and drink stalls.
This year has a focus on sustainability, making it the most sustainable event yet, with an estimated reduction in waste by 40%. The Festival is complete with compostable and recyclable food containers and is removing single-use plastic cups this year.
The festival finale will feature a spectacular feast in the MFDF Dining Dome and a special guest appearance from Tom Kerridge making his MFDF debut. The hotter-than-hot chef is set to head up the restaurant in the brand new Stock Hotel when it opens in November.
The meal will have an extra special 2 sittings, both with a four-course Sunday lunch style meal complete with specially paired drinks. Tom holds three Michelin stars across two restaurants so the Sunday Lunch promises to be an extra special treat for guests.
The festival has plant-based evenings with John Robb, Shaun Ryder and Bundobust in aid of Action Against Hunger featuring all 6 MFDF Chef of the Year nominees. The Hub will be taken over on the 29th September for a full vegetarian and vegan day.
