Arts Council England has announced 3 new funds including National Portfolio Organisations and funding from National Lottery Project Grants.
The Arts Council England supports creativity and culture throughout the country with combined arts such as festivals and carnivals, dance, libraries, literature, museums, music and visual arts.
They invest millions of pounds per year with the use of National Lottery funding to create more pathways for the arts and culture sector.
In light of the recent pandemic, the arts and culture sector has taken a massive blow with most places shutting and ceasing normal business temporarily.
The Arts Council England has pledged £160m to help England’s cultural ecology survive the pandemic.
This money will help businesses such as Castlefield Gallery, Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Manchester Craft and Design, Manchester Jazz Festival, People’s History Museum, Venture Arts and Z-arts to name a few organisations based in Manchester supported by the National Portfolio.
The Council has also set aside £50m which they intend to help cash flow challenges and commission work for many of the hundreds of organisations across the country that are outside of the National Portfolio.
They have also curated a list of all the resources and workshops that can help keep you creative and support the mental health and wellbeing of the public.
That includes a Stay at Home Literary Festival, Clay Modelling, Origami, Cross Stitch, Calligraphy and loads more creative and fun things people can be doing easily from home.
