BBQ Lamb Skewers
Wolf At The Door
This week the newest dining spot in town opened up and we had the pleasure of sampling the menu beforehand. We were treated to a 7-course paired dinner. First up was the lamb skewers. Large chunks of lamb were cooked to perfection leaving, soft and juicy with a BBQ flavour. They were topped with a sweet and sticky miso glaze and a sprinkling of lamb fat yeast flakes to add a crunch to balance the dish. I absolutely recommend getting down to sample the new dishes at Wolf At The Door and can bet it will be booked up very soon. – Alex Watson

Strawberry Milkshake
Home Sweet Home
Sometimes a gal just needs a milkshake. It’s been a weird week of cravings for me (not pregnant) and this was top of the list. Home Sweet Home is probably best know for its rather LARGE slices of cake and over the top milkshakes, but I just wanted strawberry and that’s what I got, granted with cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top. Proper nice would drink again. – India Morris

Chip Butty
Mowgli
Continuing to eat literally whatever the fuck I wanted I headed down to Mowgli on University Green, which by the way is 100% stunning and bloody lovely in the sunshine. Admittedly I’ve never eaten at Mowgli before so I let someone else order for me, but this was banging. Mowgli describe it as “a flavour grenade”, and that it was. Roti wrap, turmeric fries, chilli pickle and all sorts of other tastes sensations making it maybe one of the best bits of potato I’ve eaten this year. – India Morris

Cinnamon Bun
Atkinsons Coffee at Mackie Mayor
I treated myself this week (seemingly too much looking at my bank account). On a day out shopping (and drinking) it was time to sober up and warm up because the rain didn’t stop. So I popped down to Mackie Mayor for a DELICIOUS flat white from Atkinsons Coffee and a Cinnamon Bun. This was perfectly sweetened with plenty of cinnamon sugar swirled throughout and a massive dollop of milk chocolate ganache on top. Was delicious with my coffee and a good hour of people watching. – Ellie Edginton

Cheshire Beef
WOOD
I’ve been to WOOD more times than I’d like to admit, but this was possibly my favourite visit. I had LITERALLY the best bread and butter I’ve ever eaten but I have no picture of this because inhaled it before there was time. I’ve reviewed it over on Twitter if you’d to read exactly the same sentence as I’ve written above. (In depth as usual). So, I’m here to talk about the beef. I usually like to eat beef as rare as possible but I trust Simon more than I trust myself so here’s my medium rare chunk of Cheshire beef with burnt onion, horseradish, madeira and truffle. I cannot stress enough how much everyone needs to eat this. 10/10 would lick the plate if it wasn’t so frowned upon. – India Morris

Yum Cha All-You-Can-Eat Dim Sum
Cottonopolis
This Sunday I went to film the new ‘Yum Cha’ offer at Cottonopolis which gives you 2 hours to eat as much dim sum as you like from their trolleys – which are wheeled around packed full of all sorts of delicious morsels. The spring rolls were gorgeous, the duck dumplings amazing and I must admit to not being able to stop scoffing the edamame – much to the rest of the table’s anger. Oh and the CALAMARI was mega!  It’s only £26 per person and I was still full on Monday evening. – Jake Hardy
