Name a better thing than loaded fries. I bet you can’t. ‘Cause it doesn’t exist. Famous for their real good hangover food, Cane and Grain’s loaded fries are just so damn good and the perfect fix for a weary head. The beef brisket with smoked pit beans and plenty of spring onions is full of flavour and all the meaty goodness you need to make those hangover woes disappear. The best thing about this is the fact the chips are still crunchy and not soggy. – Jale Hardy

Opening up in everyone’s favourite Friday night spot, Wilson’s Social took over the old Patron spot. They’re serving up brunch and lunches throughout the day. I opted for the chicken flatbread, succulent and juicy chunky pieces of spice seasoned chicken on a bed of salad with peppery radishes and yellow cherry tomatoes with dollops of mint yoghurt on a delicious flatbread. It was the perfect lunch that was filling but not stodgy at all. Would definitely recommend getting down and trying out the food! – Alex Watson

We popped down this week to try out Tattu’s new Autumnal and Wintery menu, complete with some amazing fish dishes and an incredible Asian-style Beef Carpaccio that is a must-try for everyone. But the standout dish was the new theatrical and Christmassy flavoured Chocolate Brownie Pagoda. Piled high is 3 gooey brownies with white chocolate chips on a bed of sweet raspberries and a large dollop of mascarpone hidden under the Pagoda roof that is sprinkled with gold dust and a little meringue. Tasted like a plate of Christmas. – Rikki Chan

After drinking 30 bottles of wine in a week between three people (not much else to do in Lanzarote) I am now a fully-fledged addict and to curb my red wine withdrawals, I went for cocktails and more wine at Federal on Deansgate. I love Bloody Mary’s because I think they taste like pizza and this one was a proper banger. Not too spicy either, but you can change that with additional Tabasco on request. Would wholeheartedly recommend paying Federal to cure some holiday blues or just to get drunk on a Thursday (or any weeknight you wish). – India Morris
All-I-Could-Eat Korean BBQ

Thursday night I took Big Bad Maz down to proper hidden gem Azuma in Hulme and we both went absolutely crazy over their All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ deal. You get as much meat and vegetables as you like for just £22 (plus unlimited soft drinks) which you then cook on the hot plate in the centre of your table. We both had the meat sweats but both left VERY happy- Ben Brown

Stock Exchange Hotel
Tom Kerridge’s new adventure into The Stock Exchange Hotel is highly awaited and we popped down to try some of the food ahead of the opening. All the food was incredibly delicious but the slider burger piled high with smoked, beer-braised brisket was an absolute treat. The burger was coated in an oak-smoked cheddar melt topped with plenty of crunchy slaw and a large bitter dill pickle slice. The meat was incredibly juicy and the crunchy milk bun was packed full of perfectly balanced smokey and sour flavours. – James Barker
