Classic Albums at Home – Horse Meat Disco
Wednesday 24th June
Luke Howard and Severino join Classic Album Sunday’s founder Colleen Murphy on Wednesday for a one-off Zoom event discussing the overwhelming impact of music during isolation. In this special event, they will discuss the albums that have been giving them solace, comfort, happiness and inspiration, so expect to be turned on to some great new music. There’ll also be a Q&A at the end of the session so you can ask them the questions you’ve always been dying to ask.

Glastonbury Festival 2020
Thursday 25th – Monday 28th June
This weekend would have seen Glastonbury celebrate their 50th anniversary, with a packed list of performances over 5 days, culminating in Diana Ross shrieking on the pyramid stage as millions watch in the crowd and at home. People with tickets would have inundated your entire Facebook and Instagram feeds with smarmy, self-indulgent images and bragging, and a whole gaggle of BBC presenters and radio DJs would get free tickets, unlimited access and free tins of cider throughout it all. I’m almost glad it’s not happening to be fair. In response to it being moved to 2021, the BBC instead are offering up a whole 5 days og Glastonbury content. Full details below…

Manchester & Cheshire Dogs; Home Virtual Dog Show
Friday 26th June
What a great idea this is. With them still unable to get out and do local festivals and shows, the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home are hosting a special virtual event this week with categories such as ‘Happiest Hound’, ‘Worst Social Distancer’ and ‘Dog Judge Would Most Like to Take Home’. Think you’ve got the cutest and best dog in the world? Or just like to see dogs and talk about dogs? This is for you then.

GóBé at Home
Friday 26th – Sunday 28th June
It surprises me every single year – that Manchester plays host to a rather obscure little festival that seems to be so random that I always wonder just where it came from. GóBé is a Transylvanian Festival, and it was due to celebrate its 4th year this year – until it was all ruined by COVID-19. Well, they’re doing it ‘at Home’ now instead – with 3 days of live streamed workshops, dance performances and music spanning folk, punk, jazz, classical, opera and pop.
