Extended Eat Out to Help Out
After the most difficult three days to get a booking, each and every week, the Eat Out to Help Out scheme is now over. Sorry everyone. But actually, wait – there are some Manchester restaurants who have decided to continue the scheme into September – and I salute them for it. When I say “some” I actually mean quite a few – and so I’ve created this list of all the places who have extended. Enjoy.

The Manchester Restaurants Extending ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ in September

The Untold Orchestra do The Beatles at Freight Island
Tuesday 8th September
The extremely talented lot at the Untold Orchestra will be tackling the less talented Liverpudlian lot this week as they head to Freight Island for an ‘Orchestral Rendition’ of the Fab Four. So, you’ll hear all of their top hits, but done proper with real classical musical instruments – all while you tuck into some fantastic street food and sup some frosty ones. Tickets are going fast so get involved quick sharp…

The Bay Horse Tavern Pub Quiz
Tuesday 8th September
Great news everyone – the Bay Horse’s Pub Quiz is BACK this week! I’m not entirely sure what quizmaster Andy will have been up to during lockdown, but I can guarantee that he came up with some difficult questions and rounds at some point – so hopefully you’ve been swotting up too instead of just watching YouTube videos of drunk people fighting. It kicks off at 8pm and you can win some cracking prizes – all while tucking into some food if you’ve not had your tea. Their Baked Camembert with some Thrice Cooked Chips is perfect.

FREE Screening of Momento @ YES
Wednesday 9th September
The AboveTheLine lot are continuing their FREE screenings at YES with this – Momento – a film that will require you to take notes, pay attention and get an A-level in Physics to understand fully. Okay so it’s not THAT complicated, but what it is is a masterclass in how to tell a story that leaves the viewer on the edge of their seat, as they follow the life of Leonard, a man who is investigating the murder of his wife while he is unable to form short-term memories. An absolute classic.

Gemma Collins’ Drive-In Bingo
Thursday 10th September
This drive-in bingo doesn’t just feature reality queen Gemma Collins, but in fact will also feature performances by legendary 90’s boy band East 17 (with NO Brian Harvey or Tony Mortimer though), as well as that fella who used to wear lycra on GMTV – Mr Motivator. Quite how you’re supposed to do a workout in your car I don’t know – but I’m sure Motivator will find a way. The actual bingo event itself will give you the chance to win some dead good prizes, as well as meeting some of your personal heroes.
