An evening with Peter Hook and The Light is coming to Manchester on 16th May 2020 celebrating over 40 years since Joy Division formed and marking 10 years since The Light began at The Factory in 2010.

Both albums, Unknown Pleasures and Closer will be performed in their entirety and sequentially, including singles and B sides. The set will open with New Order material before spanning the entirety of Joy Division’s rich but short career, including tracks from the compilation LP ‘Still’ to the final songs ‘Ceremony’ and ‘In a Lonely Place’ written by Joy Division which formed New Order’s first single.

These Joy Division album shows have become much more scarce for The Light, who have been touring New Order albums since 2012. Aside from some one-off gigs, including Manchester Academy a few years back, the two anniversary shows are the first major full albums gigs to be announced for some years.

The influence of Joy Division and their music hold a sincere reverence and strong place in popular culture. Such album shows are being described as ‘a masterclass in euphoria and heartache in equal measure‘ – Gigwise.

Tickets for the anniversary shows are on sale now and it is bound to sell out so grab them quick.
