London-based student accommodation developer – Fusion – want to build a new 500 bedroom complex at the bottom of Deansgate, right opposite the new Deansgate Square developments.

The current site, right on the corner of Deansgate and the Bridgewater Viaduct, has attracted a lot of attention in recent years, but after the Council revealed plans to encourage more purpose-built student accommodation in the city – it’s clear to see the attractiveness of this proposal.

500 student bedrooms, gym, cinema and karaoke rooms

Designed by Corstorphine + Wright Architects, the building will not just feature 500 bedrooms, it’ll also include a gym, a cinema, karaoke rooms and social study spaces – perfect for all of that cramming 10 minutes before your exams.

The tower is by no means a certainty at this point in time, with a consultation on the plans running until from today until Tuesday 17th November and Fusion aiming to submit their planning application by the end of the year.
