Shift Click is a brand new, completely FREE Coding Bootcamp, aimed at Greater Manchester residents aged 18-30 who are either under-employed or unemployed.
Delivered by Stockport Council and digital industry experts MadLab, and funded by the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund, no experience is required just an interest in learning to code and a commitment to the programme.
In return, you’ll come out of the programme with real, current, employable skills, setting yourself up to succeed in a busy industry in need of skilled people.
The course is delivered online and remotely, there will be support and guidance throughout the programme from industry coaches and experts with guaranteed job interviews for local specialist digital roles on completion of the full programme.
There are two Shift Click programmes on offer initially: an 8-10-week part-time Introduction to Coding and a 14-week full-time Developer programme.
The programmes are free for participants and won’t affect any Universal Credit claims, but places are limited so candidates should apply now.

We’re delighted to launch this new opportunity in Stockport for young people to gain the right skills and knowledge to enter the tech industry and benefit from the mentorship and experience of industry experts. Shift Click is one of 14 projects from across Greater Manchester and Lancashire that were successful in receiving funding from the Fast Track Digital Workforce Fund, a joint venture between the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership (LDSP).
It aims to address locally identified digital skills gaps and to provide accessible pathways into digital careers for underrepresented groups.
