Eat Well MCR grew out of the lockdown, with one simple mission, to provide meals to people in Manchester who benefit from extra support in difficult times.

It quickly became a collective of Manchester’s best-known food and drink businesses working together to create delicious meals for a variety of people living with challenging circumstances.

Since starting in April, Eat Well MCR has delivered 20,350 meals in Manchester to homeless people, to people experiencing food poverty, to women seeking refuge, and to frontline NHS workers putting their lives at risk to protect the public.

Now, they’re going online with a brand spanking new marketplace that will help to generate funds to keep the work going.

The Eat Well MCR marketplace is a stock of boxes all available for delivery that includes fresh organic vegetables, fish, meat and dairy, alongside specially selected pantry items.

Virtual visitors will also be able to get meal kits to make at home curated by Manchester’s favourite chefs and restaurants as well as local hidden gems.

The rotating lineup of restaurants and chefs will be supplying meal kits and chilled meals, for both mid-week suppers and special weekend dinners.

The marketplace will ultimately be supporting the local economy of Manchester. The system works by providing you with produce from small local suppliers, supporting the suppliers who commit to ethical high-quality produce and finally supporting those in the local community with the same high quality produce.

The likes of Pollen Bakery, Hispi and Elite Bistros are on the line up of meal kits. Plus you can find small batches of delicious pantry items from the likes of Pippy Eats, Konoba and Gooey.

Meat boxes from local farms and veg boxes from organic farms are both sourced within a 25-mile radius of Manchester so you know you really are giving back to the local community!

You can also get your hands on Cloudwater beer plus a selection of natural and low intervention wines.

Every purchase made on Eat Well MCR market place allows the team to continue supporting the community.
