Back when I lived in Barcelona, I wouldn’t eat or drink ANYWHERE unless it had a terrace. Indoors were solely for going to the toilet and cooking the food – everything else was done outside.

It makes sense too – as the weather is pretty much always spot on and nothing beats eating too many tapas dishes out in the sun with a few glasses of sangria and some beers.

With the lockdown restrictions in the UK slowly being dismantled over the next few months, the next step in the ‘road map’ is Monday 12th April, when bars and restaurants are able to open up their outside spaces for diners and drinkers and, understandably – the city is set to be awash with terraces and outdoor revelry.

I can hardly wait, and neither can the team over at La Bandera, who will be re-opening their fantastic terrace right outside on Wednesday 14th April, serving up their menu of delicious Spanish and Canary Island tapas dishes, paella and extensive drinks selection.

With one of the best wine lists in the whole city, featuring some truly outstanding small-batch independent wineries from the slopes of Tenerife, La Bandera is the perfect place to wallow in the sunshine (fingers crossed) with a table of tapas plates before you.

It’s what we’ve all been craving and we’ve all been waiting for – get yourself booked in ASAP!
